  • A mixed bag of cross country, good trail, and not so good trail
  • Challenges: 12-15 miles of rough bushwhacking before Maligne Lake (wear pants!), weather
  • Highlights: Glaciers, alpine lakes, exposure, bighorn sheep, fun cross-country up Owen’s Creek, exposure, good cafeteria food at Maligne Lake, running into Freebird- another GDT hiker (the only time I ran into another GDT hiker), mama moose and calf in the White Goat Wilderness, recent trail work around Pinto Lake (Thanks GDTA!), solitude, Jonas Shoulder, Cataract Pass, Nigel Pass, Maligne Pass, Skyline Trail
