20 miles on acid and Lyme

July 6, 2015 Crawford Notch to Madison Hut, White Mountains, New Hampshire Appalachian Trail

Hiked 20 miles through the Presidential Range and over Mount Washington on acid. It was my first time taking acid. Valleys cut deep and rocks shimmered. I could not feel pain, thirst, or hunger. When we passed Lake of the Clouds Hut I thought a band of gypsies had occupied it.

Evening set in as we summited Mt. Washington. Everyone had gone home and the ridge line stretched on infinitely.

“The worst weather in the country,” Keytar repeated over and over.
